With the Chevrolet Silverado 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine, you won’t get more than 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. Even the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine still doesn’t produce as much torque as the Ram 1500 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine. In addition, the Ram includes Class-Exclusive Active-Level™ Four-Corner Air Suspension designed to improve and maintain load leveling to stabilize this pickup truck on rugged terrain as well as sensors to automatically increase fuel efficiency when driving at highway speeds.
Though the Chevrolet comes standard with the MyLink® infotainment system with 7-inch touch screen, which includes a built-in WiFi hot spot, the Ram has a leg up with the Uconnect® system which has more digital amenities than the MyLink® system. Both trucks come available with Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™ and GPS navigation for hands-free capabilities, but the Ram includes the voice activated capability with the Uconnect® infotainment system. Where the Silverado comes equipped with a 7-speaker system and 7-inch touch screen device, the Ram has a 10-speaker audio system, and an 8.4-inch touch screen for easier navigation. It’s not only about the technology for the Ram, the amount of additional interior storage including in-floor as well as extra dashboard storage gives the Ram plenty of space for personal cargo.
Designed to last, the Ram 1500 is equipped with four-wheel antilock brake system and dynamic front crumple zones engineered to keep passengers safe. Along with these features, the Ram 1500 includes a sophisticated Electronic Stability Control system which features Hill Start Assist, Trailer Sway Control as well as Rain Break Support. Though both trucks are equipped with Rear Vision Camera systems, ParkSense® Front and Rear Park Assist systems, and high-strength steel safety frames, Chevrolet lacks the side-impact door beams that Ram has as extra protection. Chevrolet only has Low-speed Automatic braking capabilities where the Ram features both Brake Assist and Ready Alert Breaking to aid in any job load. The Silverado has the myChevrolet Mobile app as an option to connect to the command center of the vehicle, but the Ram has AllSecure® Central Locking System to lock/unlock and start your vehicle without the possibility of being hacked.
